Intensive Driving Courses from Birmingham Ladies Driving School
Birmingham Ladies Driving School offer three choices of how to structure your driving lessons:
An Intensive Driving Course with Birmingham Ladies Driving School can be the solution to getting through your driving test quickly, and avoiding some of the difficulties that hourly driving lessons can have.
Intensive Driving Courses are especially useful to people with very little spare time in their normal schedule to fit in driving lessons.
Take a week or two off work, do an intensive driving course, and take your driving test.
Intensive Driving Courses with Birmingham Ladies Driving School are Different
Pitfalls to avoid with Intensive Driving Courses from other Driving Schools:
- Many Driving Schools offer intensive driving courses that are either not as intensive as you are originally told, or are badly planned.
- Some intensive driving courses are only a couple of hours per day
- Some intensive driving courses involve sharing a car with another learner; meaning you only get half the time.
- Some Driving Schools offer set length courses.
- Without any assessment of your driving!
- How can they know what length of course you will need just by speaking to you on the telephone?
- Some Driving Schools will start your course without a driving test arranged.
- They are hoping that they can find an appointment that someone else has cancelled.
- You might complete your course and not be able to take a driving test!
- Some Driving Schools aim to combine theory and practical driving tests in the same week.
- Studying for the theory test is reducing the time available to prepare for the practical driving test.
- Taking the theory test is reducing the time available to prepare for the practical driving test.
- If the theory test is not passed, the practical driving test cannot be taken.
- There cannot be a practical driving test booked until the theory test is passed.
- They are hoping that they can find an appointment that someone else has cancelled.
- You might complete your course and not be able to take a driving test!

Driving Assessments
Despite many years of experience, trying to assess a suitable length of driving course by telephone just does not work.
Before your Intensive Driving Course is arranged with Birmingham Ladies Driving School we will first start with a driving assessment lesson.
Your Birmingham Ladies Driving School driving instructor will:
- assess your current driving ability.
- assess how quickly you learn.
Based on this driving assessment your driving instructor will advise you of the length of Intensive Driving Course you will need.
We will then plan your intensive driving course with you, and book your driving test appointment to coincide with the final day of your Intensive Driving Course.
When Can I Pass My Driving Test? How Long Will It Take?
- The length of your Intensive Driving Course will depend on your assessment lesson.
- How soon your Driving Test will be will depend on:
- Whether you have passed the Theory Test
- Waiting times for Driving Tests:
- The average theory test waiting time is 2 weeks
- The average practical driving test waiting time is 6 weeks
- Waiting lists vary continuously so this is only a guide, but we will always try to arrange a course within the time scale that you want, if it is possible.
How will My Intensive Driving Course Be Structured?
- Your training will take place on consecutive days (excluding Saturdays & Sundays).
- Each day will run from 9.00am to 3.00pm.
- The day is flexible, and breaks for tea, coffee, or lunch etc. can be taken as required.
- The final day will be training in the morning with the Driving Test in the afternoon.
Residential Intensive Driving Courses
Clients not living in the Birmingham area can take a residential intensive driving course by staying in one of the many hotels or guesthouses in the Birmingham area.
We can advise you regarding accommodation if you require, but a lot of information will be available from websites such as Tripadvisor.
